Neat freak Danny
When watching the first seasons again, I got the feeling that the producers changed the character of Danny a little bit from season 2 on. In the first season we hardly saw him being a neat freak, and he even hired a maid because Jesse, Joey and him couldn't do the house keeping by themselves when their mothers showed up.
Then in season 2 it's like he's always been a neat freak. Anyone else noticed this?

Yes. And I also noticed how Uncle Jesse's character changed as well is small aspects. In the early years he is a sport's buff at times. One time he came back from playing football with Danny, Joey, and Kirk Cameron all pumped up. Towards the end of the series, he is positioned as an awful sports player in the episode with Kareem Abdul Jabbar and can't even make a shot in basketball.

Re: Neat freak Danny
they changed Danny, so he is a neat freak. he wasn't a neat freak in season 1, but at times he says he wanted to be a maid when he was a kid. they must not have remembered they changed his character when they wrote the scripts for those episodes.

Re: Neat freak Danny
Maybe they decided to let the character grow & regress. Most shows do keep their characters very static, but Full House made them a tad more realistic, i think.

Re: Neat freak Danny
thats true, but sometimes people do forget about how they first made a character and change it without considering it

Actually, I like Danny being a neat freak it adds more funny aspects to the show!
It's funny how he wants DJ, Stephanie and Michelle to like cleaning as much as he does.

Well, season 1 was very much relatable to Danny's wife dying. Danny could have grown less as a neat freak when his wife was alive. maybe she did all the cleaning. Then when she died, maybe he gradually wanted to be more of a cleaner, just like his enjoyment as a child and to bring back his wife. I don't really know. Just an idea.
Re: Neat freak Danny
I am glad someone in the Tanner family was. I don't much care for cleaning,
Maybe I should marry a guy like Danny.

If they didn't make him a neat freak, they wouldn't have the episode "the trouble with Danny"

Re: Neat freak Danny
Well towards the end of season 1, it seemed like Danny. Remember in Mad Money, when he and Joey were in the kitchen and Danny had to show Joey how "A grown man makes a sandwich." And how Joey tore a piece of his sandwich and put it in front of Danny to drive him crazy?
Re: Neat freak Danny
I always took his not cleaning as depression; remember that people do change after a major trauma like Pam's death. The trheat of the moms moving in could have snapped him out of it and then he became super-obsessed till he calmed down some.
That's part of the problem with TV versus books, ou can't explain everything so if you want to avoid complaints, you have to encourage viewers to think.
With Jesse, it's more complicated, and I do think athere, you almost have to use one of the rules I mention in the Chronology - last mention of something/someone is the canon one, becasue shows do evolve as they flesh out who they want characters to be. There really isn't a depression angle the way Danny's total untidyness can be in episode 4.

And Joey tore off a piece of his sandwich, and put it in front of Danny because he knew the bread crumbs would drive Danny crazy. After they made up, and Danny agreed to take the money Joey owed him, he told Joey he was buying him a savings bond and a closet organizer.
I think when he was grieving, he let the cleaning fall to the wayside. But, the moms threatening to move in, snapped him out of it.
